ERC Proof of Concept Grant
A total of 13 billion euros is available to the European Research Council (ERC) as part of the “Horizon 2020” program for the period 2014 to 2020. In this way, the best and most innovative scientists at European research institutes from diverse technical disciplines are supported financially. The funded research work should primarily exhibit a high opportunities-risks profile and enable pioneering innovations.
Linked to this, the ERC has established another funding measure with the so-called “ERC Proof-of-Concept Grant”. ERC funded scientists receive financial support amounting to 150,000 euros for a funding period of 18 months as part of the program. The aim is to transfer the scientific potential and social influence of their research results to the application. Applications can be submitted at three dates in the year.
